why we must all help

Why should we all help?
Because it’s the right thing to do.
And normally, that would be enough of an answer.
But during this time of viral contagion, social contagion and now economic recession, we will add in a few more words to help quell panic, so please read on :)
We believe that empathy and acts of compassion will help us get through the Covid Crisis.
This isn’t a ‘happy hippy’ or overly positive approach to smile and hope for the best. This is a concrete reality where we have to change how we do everything. Calmly.
Everyone small and big has now suffered and are pivoting how they do things, from parenting, to remote working, to managing business, and even managing national national borders. Things will never be the same. And hopefully when things restart we can point stimulus packages in the right direction! (More on that later)
Because of these changes, there is fear and uncertainty running rampant (the social contagion we were referring to earlier).
As behaviour-change experts, we know that uncertainty and fear are the perfect breeding grounds of social discontent and undesirable behaviour. And as policy advisors to governments, we know they are still scrambling to resolve this global catastrophe. And because of our visibility in the private sector, we are very aware of growing gaps which need filling to prevent a bad problem from getting worse.
All things taken into account, it’s quite apparent that everyone needs to do their bit.
Because if we don’t, we’ll be faced with more avoidable deaths, economic crises and social unrest for years to come (theft, mental illness and domestic violence to name a few).
S0 how can you lend a hand?
Great question! The best thing you can do is be kind to those around you and practice good hygiene and spread love, not fear, we don’t need more worry-warts! And if you’re a bit better off and have decision-making power, we have channels below for you to donate cash, equipment or time. Every bit of help counts.
And what are we doing at The Idea as a Socially Responsible Business?
We are assigning our consultants to supporting local businesses and offering our I.P/Assets for free to help SMEs and the public with the Covid 19 Crisis.
We are creating campaigns and bringing communities together to financially assist SMEs during this period
We are identifying gaps together with Hospital administrators to manage resources and donations
We are ensuring access to sanitizer due to an increase of fake products and predatory pricing, by offering deliveries and free refills to those in need. (which also helps the environment)
We are creating and sharing vetted Health Awareness and Social Distancing advice to educate the public on desirable behaviour
Together, we can turn these divided catastrophes into a unified opportunity, to make the world a much better place than it was before Covid. This way the sacrifices we’re taking now aren’t in vain and those on the front lines are can be assured all their risks are towards something meaningful. Let’s all do our bit.
With love,
Mr. G
